WREI
Congressional Fellows
The WREI Congressional Fellows bring a remarkable range of academic and personal experiences to their Capitol Hill assignments. The 272 participants, thus far, represent many racial and ethnic groups as well as geographic areas. A majority of Fellowship alumnae are now employed in public policy or public interest organizations, although the program has two surgeons, three nurse/midwifes, a documentary filmaker, several ranchers and farmers, and a number of successful corporate executives. Many have pursued law degrees. One former Fellow has run (so far, unsuccessfully) for Congress in Vermont; another was elected to the Kansas State House. Click
