Women in the Military:  Moving Forward

Using the Lessons of the Past Decade

 

 

The WREI/AND Eighth Conference on Women in the Military, Women in the Military:  Moving Forward Using the Lessons of the Past Decade, convened 24 and 25 September 2009 at the Women in Military Service for America (WIMSA) Memorial at Arlington National Cemetery.

 

Conference highlights included presentations of Alliance for National Defense Positive Voice Awards to Doonesbury creator Garry Trudeau and longtime advocate for military women retired Navy Captain Barbara Brehm; a keynote address by Brigadier General Rhonda Cornum, Medical Corps, U.S. Army, author of She Went to War: The Rhonda Cornum Story; and a rich variety of panels and discussions on relevant, timely issues by acknowledged experts from the military, policy and academic worlds.
